As a child, it became obvious at the age of 5 that music was going to become an extension of me. I could not get enough of the piano. It became my friend, and still, as I sit down to bring life to it... it brings life to me.
At a very young age, I remember listening to my mother play Beethoven and being literally changed by it. I wanted to be able to play the music that had touched me so deeply through my mother's hands. It was not too many years later that I was able to feel that same music coming from my own hands. At the age of 7, I began singing and playing the piano. I had found my passion.
My hunger to grow musically manifested itself in a desire to encounter as many musical cultures as possible. Over time, my musical interests encompassed not only my classical piano roots, but also included rock and roll, jazz, choral music, and contemporary Christian. This diversity of musical experiences allowed me to nurture my need for music and my desire to share my love of music with others. This desire has not only been to perform music, but to teach it. Opening Studio 88 has been a dream for a long time.
